OfficeSuite 5.30 Brings Google Docs Into Your Hands

When Mobisystems updated their OfficeSuite to version 5.00, they upgraded some of its core functions, such as being able to handle password protected documents and the ability to both view and edit Microsoft Office 2007 documents. Packed into this suite are three main functions, starting with the Word editor lets you view and edit documents such as doc, docx, rtf and txt files with support for images in the document. The other one is to view and edit spreadsheets with the most common formulas and charts that you need. Last but least is the function of viewing PowerPoint presentations. Included is also dictionaries for 6 languages making it easy to correct spellings in the document on the fly.

The newest version, 5.30 adds the enhancement of being able to access your documents on Google Docs and with a data connection you work on your documents as if they were locally stored on your phone. All you have to do is put in your credentials for your Google account the first time where after the application will remember the settings. The opening of spreadsheets with a lot of formulas has also improved greatly as the amount of time taken have been reduced significantly. This has previously been a real dealbreaker for me.

A trial of the new version can be downloaded from the Symbian-Guru App Store where you also can buy the application for $19.99.
